The backyard has a new 6-foot tall wooden privacy fence installed the summer of 2012. The playground area is filled in with playground grade Fibar wood-chips and the area surrounding the sandbox is pea gravel. Both areas are lined with decorative custom curbing. The flowerbed along the east fence is lined with rocks. There is a small raised-bed garden (ideal for growing peas, greens, and tomatoes) containing peat moss, vermiculite, and mulch.
