Kitchen

The kitchen and dining room are one room, roughly 8'-7" by 14'-3". During the summer of 2011, everything original was removed (cabinets, counter-tops, sink, flooring, lighting, etc.) and replaced with brand new cabinets and counter-tops. The counter-tops are granite. The cabinets are knotty alder with a dark stain called Kodiak. Both the cabinets and counter tops were provided and installed by Cache Valley Counter Tops. The kitchen sink is a single basin 24x17x10 sink with a 1/3hp garbage disposal. The disposal is operated by a switch to the east of the kitchen sink. Above the kitchen sink is a recessed light.

Main lighting for the room is provided by two flush mount ceiling lights operated by two separate one-way switches. During the remodel, seven grounded outlets were added. Three were placed on the counter top adjacent to the sink, three were placed on the south wall with one on each side of the range and the third behind the fridge. The last was installed in the cabinet directly behind the dishwasher, accessible from the bench side. Two original outlets are still in place, one under the kitchen table and one behind the fridge.

The range is a smooth top purchased in 2010. The microwave installed above the range is equipped with a fan and light for use on the cooktop. The dishwasher is Bosch. Both the microwave and range were installed in 2011. The refrigerator is an Electrolux (in the home when we purchased it) with a manufactured date of March 2003.

There is a custom dining table attached to the west wall with two other legs providing vertical support on the east side of the table. Seating is provided by two small stools and a bench under the picture window. The bench and the table were designed and installed in 2011 in order to optimize the dining space.
